Al Habtoor Tennis Cup

The Al Habtoor Tennis Cup is held in tandem with the Al Habtoor Tennis Challenge and the Al Habtoor Women’s 25K to further boost tennis in the region and encourage both men and women, girls and boys to the sport. The tournament is designed for amateur players or non-ranked players from as young as 12 years old. It has the added benefit of being played in accordance with the International Tennis Federation (ITF standards) to encourage amateur players to take up the sport at a professional level.

The tournament, which draws in 100s of players, is open to players registered with Tennis Emirates and TEPIN holders. For competitive play, all matches up to and including the semi-final stage are played on a no-advantage scoring system with a match-tiebreak game replacing the final set.

Khalaf Al Habtoor launched the event alongside the Al Habtoor Tennis Challenge so that the amateur and non-ranked players from 12+ could compete alongside a professional tournament. “The Al Habtoor Tennis Cup allows us to encourage and develop young talent and non-ranked players. The event gives them a local platform to compete on with high-level of professional and international exposure. It is important for aspiring professionals to see what it is like to be part of a professional-level competition. They get the professional experience from the tournament, which runs alongside a firmly established international competition.”
